Visitors arrive to the swanky black-leather and glass lobby of the Thompson LES Hotel were a robust security presence divides memberships card holders and mere velvet rope carnage. But don’t be ashamed just yet, the managers of Above Allen mailed a few select membership cards in advance to VIP guests as well as a few targeted zip codes. The LES property is the third installment of the Above rooftop lounge series, following the success of those at 60 Thompson and Thompson Beverly Hills. Past the bouncer and into the selected elevators, guests are transported to the rooftop lounge where a stunning space is erected amongst the NYC skyline. A retractable roof allows the space to operate during winter and summer months, but its during the long and warm summer that the venue hopes to make a name for itself as a sexy dance lounge offering that artsy LES vibe complete with low-flung lounge furnishing upholstered with genuine Steven Sprouse fabric from the mid-70s. The lounge features DJ turntables cutting-up vintage rock tracks as well as a small plates menu catered by in-house Shang until 2am."
