One of the main goals at Secret Project Robot is to pursue something other than money...
This however, DOES NOT mean, that we think everything should be FREE, that we are super DIY, or even anti-corporation.
It does mean that we think that people's experience in life should amount to more than what they've bought and consumed. We support the notion that a good conversation means more than a new outfit, but we also support ARTISTS.
The $5.00 you pay to get into a show, the $3.00 drink, the $100.00 painting or the $10.00 record are a way to support a scene. If you want everything to be free- just for you, then this scene will no longer exist, and we will all suffer...
At Secret Project Robot the door money, art purchases and the merchandise money go 100% to the artists. The people who work at the door, bar and sound, are all of our friends who get paid from the $3.00 Miller High Life you buy. The more we support them, the more they can spend their time making the world a little more awesome each day for all of us.
Secret Project Robot wants to create a community that functions as a city-state, that is by internal support and motivation, but we all have to contribute both financially and mentally in order to make this very medieval notion work. We hope you will continue to join us in this social and artistic experiment!
