Lazer Happy
The first New York solo exhibition of Queens based artist collective LazerHappy presents a series of baby blue automotive painted AK47s, two large-scale pop-inspired paintings, and the debut of a line of wallpaper and shopping bags emblazoned with the LazerHappy logo. The work references pop themes, street art and psychedelia while Automatik Kalashnikov 1947 (2007), a series of five automotive painted AK47 assault rifles encourages visitors to interact with the rifle, which reveals the hardness and heft of an actual, quite deadly weapon.
