New Years Eve 2009 EVENT LIST 3 (for the more adventurous)

TheDanger and Gemini & Scorpio are teaming up for a
semi-secret New Years Eve party.  Details are being kept
quiet at this point in an attempt to avoid the
overcrowding that has hit these events lately.

Part I : The Rise
7pm to 4am : Lower Manhattan
Experience the glitz, long-stemmed cigarettes and irrational
exuberance of the age.  Swing House / Gemini & Scorpio have
put together a fantastic line-up of burlesque performers,
brass bands, vintage dj's and a midnight moment of fire
and champagne.  This all takes place across three floors of
a classic Manhattan cabaret club.

Part II : The Fall
10pm to 7am : Brooklyn
TheDanger takes over a beautifully raw warehouse for a
thick and cozy dj dance party with an unusual dose of
aerial acts, fire art and a ritualized countdown that
guarantees a kiss.

On this night we party like it's 1929.
Feather masks will be required.

Details and performer listings will be released on Monday.

Shanghai Mermaid

Join us on New Year's Eve as we partner with -- and pull back the curtain on a dark and wonderful night of cabaret and performance.

Years ago we had a thought; if we had to work on New Year's Eve then we were going to make damn sure we made the party that we'd absolutely die to go to if we weren't in fact working. Well, we did it.

Think of the 1920-30's Jazz Age speakeasies of Paris, Shanghai, and Weimar, Berlin. The world was bright, new, wondrous. Prosperity seemed to stretch out forever. The infamous parties brought out the most scandalous natures in the most well-mannered people, ahem.

So dust off your fedoras, feather boas, sequined gowns, flapper dresses, and oriental attire... and be warned that your evening best might get a little ruffled, but we'll be sure to ruffle your evening best in just the right places.

A limited amount of advance tickets can be purchased here. Tickets available on the eve of 2008, and when we turn it up a notch after midnight -- in 2009.

Winkel and Balktick present:

Mysteries of Creation

After their successful journey to a mysterious dessert island paradise in late summer, Winkel and Balktick returned to their laboratory. All through autumn they experimented and tinkered. Time travel engineers from every age and nation came to visit.

On December 31, 2008, the Winkel and Balktick Time Engine was re-engaged and set out to explore the Mysteries of Creation. From the Garden of Eden, the paradise of humanly ignorance, to Ginnungagap, the endless void between the lands of ice and fire, they charted a most ambitious and exciting course.

The crew featured New York City's most experienced and imaginative chrononauts, who provided ample entertainment on the long journey with live music, DJs, dancing, performances, art installations, activities, games, debauchery, indulgence, and surprises. Their time vessel was a vast and heretofore unmolested 13,000 square foot craft in a most convenient location.

With DJs D_Juice, Dhundee, and Reza. Live music by Zack Hagan and 1050, Miss Angelina, Celestial. Performance by the Modern Gypsies. Art, installations, activities, and games by: Betty T Kao, Brian Bucher, Evan Cairo, Gregory Skolozdra, the Jellie Collective, Justin Lange, Joe Che, Laura Sheedy, Liz Latona, Miss C Spot, Ms. D, 0h1o M1ke, Pak Kei Mak, Tara McManus, Meghann Plunkett, Yung Oh Le Page, and Zoe ShihZaru.
